The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aharonian lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Aharonian has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Aharonian there as he acknowledges the shot.
Aharonian looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

McLovin throws a low kick but Aharonian moves out of range easily.
Aharonian throws a right and a left that both miss.
Aharonian throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McLovin sees it coming and avoids it easily.

McLovin has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Aharonian is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

McLovin swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Aharonian.

Armen Aharonian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aharonian avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
McLovin throws the left hand but Aharonian avoids the punch easily.
Good work by McLovin as he checks the leg kick.
McLovin scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Aharonian lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McLovin circles away quickly and effectively.

Aharonian is rocked!
McLovin is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Aharonian flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Aharonian is out cold! McLovin holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
