Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seto Takiama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jake Long!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Seto Takiama!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Russell Pearce and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takiama has a takedown stuffed.
Long half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Takiama shoots in but no luck this time.

Long darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Takiama felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Long wants to free his trapped foot but Takiama is holding on for dear life with his legs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Long is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Takiama sees it coming and defends easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Takiama is staying active underneath Long, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Takiama is in trouble now - Long has advanced to mount!

Takiama is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Long has taken his back.
Takiama prevents Long from getting a body triangle.

Long throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Takiama's waist but Takiama gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Long off to one side.
Takiama drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Long defends it well.
Takiama tries to score a power double leg takedown but Long sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Takiama somewhat.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Takiama shoots in for a double leg but Long sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Long is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Takiama fails to land the takedown.
Long throws a big counter combination but Takiama scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Long goes for a double leg but Takiama avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Takiama continues to drive forward.

Takiama drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Long defends it well.

Takiama fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Takiama shoots in for a takedown but Long shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Long tries to counter with a takedown but Takiama is quick to defend against it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Takiama pushes Long off looking to stand but Long dives back in and keeps control.

Takiama thows a left - swing and a miss!
Takiama has a takedown stuffed.
Long tries to score a power double leg takedown but Takiama sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Long somewhat.

Takiama's corner calls for a 1-2. Takiama obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Long stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Long wants it to stay on the feet.

Horrible takedown attempt by Long or perhaps it was just good defense by Takiama, which made it look bad.
Long closes the distance and clinches up with Takiama, looking for a takedown. Long pushes Takiama against the cage but Takiama circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Takiama counters with a left and a right that stings Long.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Takiama slaps away a takedown attempt from Long, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Takiama throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Long tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Takiama is in Long's guard.
Long is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Takiama can do to turn this around?

Takiama drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Takiama jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Long is trying to control Takiama's posture but Takiama avoids it.
Long is looking for a sweep.

Takiama is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Long has escaped the position, nice work there.

Takiama wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Long, who protects the arm well.

Seto Takiama comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Long has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
