Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shinichi Onizuka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cooper Abreu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Onizuka comes into the arena with Nate Dogg - First We Pray blaring out of the sound system. Abreu has chosen Die for Metal as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, Shinichi Onizuka!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cooper Abreu!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Onizuka throws a body punch but Abreu moves out of range.
Onizuka looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Onizuka throws a jab but it's blocked by Abreu.
Abreu drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Onizuka defends it well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Shinichi Onizuka spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
Cooper Abreu spoke after the fight, saying 'I tried something different this time, but the fact is if I can't be the best I think it's time for me to retire. Thank you all for the fun times.'.
