Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rich Downs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ohad Bin Chaden!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bin Chaden gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Downs is looking to reverse the position.
Downs pushes Bin Chaden away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bin Chaden gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Bin Chaden tries for a kimura but Downs is defending well.
Downs defending against the ground and pound.
Bin Chaden grinds an elbow into Downs's temple.
Bin Chaden trying to control the action but Downs is working from the bottom.
Downs is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bin Chaden asserts his dominance and retains side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bin Chaden scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Downs to see if he's OK.
Bin Chaden cracks Downs with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Downs misses with an elbow from the bottom.

Downs tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Bin Chaden tries to move into full mount but can't pass Downs's legs.
Bin Chaden connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Downs some visible discomfort.
Bin Chaden tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bin Chaden has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Bin Chaden working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Downs is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bin Chaden in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bin Chaden tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Bin Chaden landing strikes.
Downs wants to get back to his feet but Bin Chaden drags him back down.
Bin Chaden wants to control but Downs is keeping him busy.
Bin Chaden advances to full mount.
Downs flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Downs swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Bin Chaden working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Downs is rocked!
It looks like Rich Downs has been cut.
Bin Chaden looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Downs covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ohad Bin Chaden!
