PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jake Longhall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brown Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wilson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. crazy bitch kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Brown Wilson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jake Longhall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 26 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Brown Wilson!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Longhall scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


It looks like Brown Wilson has been cut.

Wilson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Longhall wants to clinch up but Wilson keeps it at a distance.

Wilson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Longhall after a bit of a struggle.

Jake Longhall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brown Wilson.
Longhall tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Wilson avoids it.

Longhall throws a nice looking combination but Wilson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Brown Wilson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Wilson throws a big elbow that misses.
Wilson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Wilson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Longhall throws a body punch but Wilson moves out of range.
Wilson changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Wilson shoots in for a takedown but Longhall shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Wilson feints and as Longhall raises his hands in defense, Wilson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wilson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Jake Longhall showed his dominance in that final round.

After the fight, Brown Wilson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
