PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johan Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machado kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Enter Sandman. Aaron Stone has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johan Machado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone pushes Machado away with a front kick.
Machado throws out a loose jab but Stone uses good head movement to avoid it.
Stone looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Good leg kick by Stone there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Stone lets loose with a powerful body kick. Machado will feel that in the morning.
Stone feints and then cracks Machado's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Machado down.

Stone's coach down at Cylon Training Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Stone's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Stone lands a slapping body shot.
Machado moves in looking to clinch but Stone pushes him off.
Stone was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Stone.
Stone tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Machado manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Machado has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Stone.
Machado is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

It looks like Johan Machado has been cut.
Machado fails to land the takedown.
Stone sizes up Machado with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Stone throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Machado on the side of the head.
Stone thuds his right hand into Machado's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Stone connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Machado is rocked!

Machado misses with a hook. Stone ducked under it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Stone drops Machado with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Machado looks back up at him and smiles so Stone waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oh Machado is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Stone scores with a leg kick.
Stone has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Machado misses with a left hand
and Stone rattles Machado with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Machado tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Stone dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Machado stiff and motionless on the mat!
