Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gordon Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Trager (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Trager's choice of entrance music: Bang Bang. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gordon Freeman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Trager!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trager is trying hard to land a takedown here. Freeman sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Trager doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Freeman counters with a shoot takedown. Trager fights it but they end up in guard.
Trager is pulling down on Freeman's head. It's preventing any offense from Freeman, at least for the moment.
Freeman distracts Trager with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Trager has his foot on Freeman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Freeman works his way back into a safe position though.
Freeman works over Trager with some ground and pound from guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Trager looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Trager is trying to control the position but Freeman postures up.
Trager looking for a sweep. Not yet Trager, not yet.
Trager striking off his back but it's not causing Freeman any problems.
Freeman landing some decent shots from guard.

Trager keeping moving, preventing Freeman from controlling successfully.
Freeman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Freeman wants to control from the top but Trager keeps moving.

Trager working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Freeman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Freeman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Trager will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Freeman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Trager swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Trager looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Freeman throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Trager is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Freeman defends well.
Freeman distracts Trager with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Trager working for a triangle but Freeman defends it easily.
Trager not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Trager wants to sweep here but Freeman controlling him for the moment.
Freeman lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Freeman trying to control the position from guard on top but Trager is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Trager looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Freeman passes into half guard.
Freeman is nestled in close to Trager, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Freeman wants to pass to mount but Trager is defending the position.
Freeman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Trager with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Freeman lands strikes from half guard.
Trager is not content to let Freeman control the position.

Trager has one foot on Freeman's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Trager moves in looking to clinch but Freeman pushes him off.
Freeman attempts a counter takedown but Trager avoids it well and moves away.

and Freeman counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Freeman working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Freeman is stalling in the full guard.
Freeman is working Trager over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Trager doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Freeman counters with a single leg into guard. Trager didn't expect that.
Freeman lands a couple of elbows.
Freeman connects with a couple of short punches.
Freeman throws a big elbow that misses.

Trager is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Freeman frees his head nicely. Oh but Trager has switched to an armbar! Freeman is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
