Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Papa Shango (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Better Dead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dead has chosen Better off Dead as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Better Dead will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shango drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Shango slips nicely into half guard.

Shango is working for a submission of some sort.
Dead wants to get back to his feet.
Shango is trying to control the action in half guard but Dead is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Dead looks like he's trying to stand up.
Shango is pressing down on Dead's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dead is holding on for now.
Dead really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shango. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dead pushes Shango off looking to stand but Shango dives back in and keeps control.
Shango trying to pass the guard but Dead defending well.
Dead is trying to stand up here but Shango is controlling him well.
Dead won't allow Shango to pass to mount.

Dead is trying to stand.
Shango wants to free his trapped foot but Dead is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Dead wants to get back to his feet.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dead Throws a clean left jab. Dead Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Shango's chin! Shango crumbles to the ground and Dead follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Dead!

A very excited looking Better Dead rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
