PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Isiah Doyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Isiah Doyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Kim!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kim forces Doyle back against the cage and clinches.

Kim is trying to trip Doyle. He has hold of a leg but Doyle is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Kim persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Kim slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kim wants to control from the top but Doyle keeps moving.

Doyle looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kim has picked Doyle up and slammed him! Doyle can't keep hold of the triangle and Kim manages to pass to side control!
Doyle is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Kim stands up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Doyle gets caught napping as Kim dives in and scores a takedown. Doyle manages to retain guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kim stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Doyle swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Doyle keeping moving, preventing Kim from controlling successfully.
Kim's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Kim trying to control but Doyle is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Kim moves into the clinch successfully.

Kim has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Doyle clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Kim has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Doyle wants to get back to his feet.

Kim lands with a hammerfist to the side of Doyle's head.
Kim has good solid back control here.

Doyle tries to keep at a distance but Kim has taken the fight into the clinch.

Kim turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Kim is looking to take a break and control but Doyle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Doyle wants to get back to his feet but Kim is dominant here and he's now got Doyle's back!

Kim wants to control but Doyle is keeping busy.
Doyle is covering up but some of the strikes from Kim are getting through and doing damage.

Eric Kim showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Doyle's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Doyle gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Doyle throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Kim has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kim lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Kim wants to stand but Doyle has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Kim drops back looking for a leg! Doyle is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Doyle manages to kick Kim off! Kim jumps back into Doyle's guard.

Doyle can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kim controls the pace.
Doyle is looking to stand up but Kim isn't so interested in that idea.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Kim rushes Doyle and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Doyle stalling the fight.

Doyle is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kim is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Doyle to the mat. Doyle regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Doyle is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kim trying to control the position from guard on top but Doyle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kim pushing down on Doyle's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Kim is keen to just control but Doyle is a slippery customer.
Kim moves nicely into side control.

Doyle bucks up and tries to throw Kim off but instead Kim has got his back!
Doyle tries to roll but Kim sticks to his back.
Kim lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

I really don't envy Doyle right now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kim is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Doyle. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

Kim has his arm under Doyle's chin here. Game over son! Kim squeezes tightly and Doyle is forced to tap out!
