The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Winston Howard and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cava looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Koscielny changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Cava throws a head kick but Koscielny moves out of range.

Koscielny fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cava avoids it really well and circles away.

Cava got a little sloppy there for a moment and Koscielny has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cava has managed to get both his arms back between Koscielny's legs - danger averted.

Cava throws a sloppy head kick and Koscielny moves out of range easily.

and Koscielny counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Cava!
Koscielny has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Koscielny is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cava doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Koscielny.

Cava has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Koscielny uses his free foot to push down on Cava's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Cava.

Koscielny is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cava is aware though and is defending well.
