The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hewitt rushes Parr and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Parr is looking to break free of the clinch but Hewitt has double underhooks.
Parr is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Hewitt is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Parr pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Hewitt really is a fat lump.
Parr is trying to break the clinch but Hewitt has him pressed against the cage.
Parr is trying to break free.

Parr has hold of one of Hewitt's legs. Hewitt is fighting the takedown attempt but Parr gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Hewitt has a closed guard, preventing Parr from standing up.

Hewitt escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Parr gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Parr wants to stand but Hewitt has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hewitt looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Parr wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Hewitt's closed guard. He's half up but Hewitt has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Hewitt pivots and extends the arm, Parr falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Hewitt! Well done that man!
