Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jose Alcano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Alcano might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Three Stars & A Sun. Alexander Wilson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alexander Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson keeps the fight on the outside.
Wilson fails with the takedown.
Wilson circles away from the clinch attempt.

Alcano gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wilson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Alcano's guard.
Wilson stops Alcano from getting back to his feet.
Wilson moves nicely into side control.
Wilson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Alcano is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Alcano takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
The ground and pound from Wilson seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Wilson tries for a kimura but Alcano is defending well.
Alcano is trying to buck Wilson off.
Wilson fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Wilson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Alcano is trying to get back to his feet.
Wilson with the ground and pound but Alcano regains half guard under the barage of strikes.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Alcano tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Wilson listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Wilson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Alcano is looking to clinch.

Wilson swats away the attempt to clinch by Alcano.
Wilson shoots in and drives through. Alcano sprawls well.
Alcano wants to clinch up but Wilson keeps it at a distance.
Alcano moves out of range as Wilson strikes.
Wilson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Alcano. Alcano circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Alcano uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wilson.
Wilson misses the jab.
Alcano fails in his attempt to clinch.
Wilson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wilson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alcano tries to avoid it but Wilson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alcano to the ground. Alcano escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jose Alcano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Wilson.
Wilson lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Wilson gets the takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alexander Wilson dominated that round.
That's time! Alcano's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Wilson throws a looping overhand right but Alcano ducks down to avoid it.
Wilson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Wilson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Alcano looks a forlorn figure.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wilson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Alcano can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Wilson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
