Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Howe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kingston Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kingston Young will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jon Howe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kingston Young!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Young shoots in and gets a takedown into Howe's guard.
Howe is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Young is controlling him.
Howe lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Young has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Howe can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Howe controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Howe postures up and lands a big shot to Young's brow.
Young tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Howe working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Howe throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Young works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Howe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Howe controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Howe seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Young for as long as he can get away with.
Young looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Howe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Howe shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Howe was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Young tries to improve position but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Young is not content to let Howe control the position.
A control attempt from Young but he's now mounted!
Howe controlling his opponent.
Howe lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Howe avoids the attempt from Young to control.
Howe looking to control and managing it successfully.
Young tries to lock up and control but Howe gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Young taking shots to the head.
Howe avoids the attempt from Young to control.
Howe trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Howe putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Howe looking to finish Young with some ground and pound. This is bad for Young!
Howe fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Howe really is a fat lump.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Howe pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Howe is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Young can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Young clinches up with Howe and pushes him back against the cage.

Young jumps into guard, dragging Howe to the mat.
Young wants to get back to his feet but Howe is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Howe scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Howe missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Young is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Howe dives into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Young is looking for a sweep.
Howe just content to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Young is trying to work for a sweep but Howe has mounted him!
Young wants to control but Howe is having none of it.
Howe landing shots from mount.
Howe breaks from Young's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The referee warns Young that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.


Young is rocked!
Young has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Young trying to get back to his feet but Howe is in full control for now.
Howe drops a couple of huge strikes from the back position and Young is in real trouble here! Howe lands more strikes and the referee has to step in to end the fight! Howe is delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jon Howe!
