Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Al Dale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Norton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexander Norton has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Al Dale's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Al Dale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexander Norton!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Dean Styles and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norton throws a hook but Dale avoids it easily.
Dale is looking to counter the offense by Norton and move into the clinch.
Dale could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Dale shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Norton's guard.
Dale slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Dale stands and steps away. Norton gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Dale throws the left hand but Norton avoids the punch easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dale shoots and misses
letting Norton counter with a right hand.
Dale moves forwards but Norton connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Norton throws out a powerful jab.
Norton cracks Dale with an open hand slap.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dale keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Norton.
Norton throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Dale counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Dale is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Norton is defending well.
Norton is trying to push Dale away but Dale has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Dale is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Al Dale. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dale jumps guard and drags Norton to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Dale utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Dale manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Norton manages to get himself to full guard.


Dale gets to his feet - Norton follows without any prompting.
Norton with a jab.

Norton gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dale to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Dale throwing strikes but missing.
Norton can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dale controls the pace.

Dale decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Norton, up you get!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Norton throws the left hand but Dale avoids the punch easily.
Norton looks winded!
Norton cracks Dale with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Norton getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Dale closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Norton quickly recovers to half guard.

Dale looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Dale decides to stand up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dale takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Norton throws a right hand that misses

and Dale counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dale.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Norton wants to get back to striking at distance but Dale won't allow it.
Norton prevents a takedown attempt there.

Dale lands a takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Al Dale dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Dale shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Norton connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Alexander Norton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dale moves out of range as Norton strikes.
Norton might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Norton enables Dale to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Norton manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Dale is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Norton is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Norton has escaped and now he's on top!

Norton is in close to Dale's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Dale is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Norton can do to turn this around?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Norton postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Norton is fighting to break Dale's control of his arms but Dale is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dale is on top in guard.

Norton is breathing heavily.

Dale decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Norton, up you get!
Norton is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dale shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Norton counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A jab lands there for Norton.

Dale gets a takedown into half guard.
Dale throwing shots but Norton is blocking nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Dale has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Norton defend it? Dale steps over the head and cranks it - Norton is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Dale!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Al Dale!
