Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Kalawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Biles!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Topper Green and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Biles is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kalawa's half guard.

Biles is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kalawa defends it well.

Biles wants to work for an arm triangle but Kalawa is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kalawa wants to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Biles has his foot on Kalawa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kalawa works his way back into a safe position though.

Biles throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Kalawa escapes and throws Biles's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Kalawa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Biles manages to avoid it.

Biles dives in for a single leg takedown but Kalawa sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Kalawa looks to land a left hand but Biles moved out of range nicely.

Biles ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Biles throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kalawa tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Biles is in Kalawa's guard.

Biles drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kalawa dives on top into guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Biles escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kalawa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Biles looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kalawa is fending him off so far but Biles persists. Nope, Kalawa circles away and we're back to standing.

Kalawa throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Biles drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kalawa pulls his leg out and moves away.

Biles shoots in and gets a takedown into Kalawa's guard.
Kalawa pulls Biles in close to his closed guard and prevents Biles from doing any damage or advancing position.
Biles postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Biles won't allow Kalawa to sweep him here.

Biles has gone for a leg lock! Kalawa slips out almost immediately though and dives into Biles's guard.

I would just about give that final round to Ryan Biles.
I think Biles has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
