Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 39 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ash Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Phil Mcracken!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcracken fails to land the takedown.
Thomas lets loose with a powerful body kick. Mcracken will feel that in the morning.
Thomas scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Thomas attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Thomas gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Thomas wants to sweep here but Mcracken controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thomas is trying to keep Mcracken in close.
Mcracken won't allow Thomas to sweep him here.

Thomas is working hard here to advance position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Mcracken fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Thomas misses with a body kick.
That kick from Thomas tenderised Mcracken's leg. Mcracken is trying to keep his angry face on.
Mcracken looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ash Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phil Mcracken.

Mcracken feints and as Thomas raises his hands in defense, Mcracken changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Thomas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mcracken is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thomas not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Mcracken tries to stand but Thomas is controlling from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Thomas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Thomas wants it to stay on the feet.
Thomas throwing a counter right hand but Mcracken manages to avoid it.
Thomas fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
A chopping leg kick lands by Thomas.
Mcracken has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Thomas.
Thomas looks to land a body kick but Mcracken moved away.
Mcracken keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mcracken fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thomas avoids it really well and circles away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Mcracken changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Thomas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Thomas is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Mcracken is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Thomas on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Thomas tries to get out of the position.

Thomas is desperately trying to improve his position but Mcracken has a good base and remains in mount.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mcracken sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Thomas wants to hold on but Mcracken pushes him away.
Thomas really wants to buck Mcracken off and get back to his feet.
Thomas is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mcracken looking to control and managing it successfully.

Phil Mcracken showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Mcracken fails with a takedown attempt.
Mcracken tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Thomas swivels and escapes.
Some bone on bone action there as Mcracken checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Mcracken darts in looking for a takedown but Thomas gets double underhooks and turns Mcracken into the cage.
Ash Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phil Mcracken.

Mcracken fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Thomas to the ground. Mcracken is now in Thomas's guard.
Thomas wants to stand but Mcracken is controlling the position.

Thomas has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Mcracken has passed into side control.
Thomas is looking to regain half guard here but Mcracken keeps moving and retains side control.

Mcracken has control of an arm but Thomas manages to advance to Mcracken's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mcracken keeps trying to improve his position.
Mcracken breaks Thomas's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Mcracken wants to stand but Thomas is controlling his posture from full guard.
Mcracken is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Thomas is looking to sweep but instead, Mcracken has passed into half guard.
Thomas is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Thomas tries to get to full guard but Mcracken has control of the leg.
Mcracken wants to stand up but Thomas has a hold of him and won't allow it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mcracken prevents Thomas from improving his position.
Mcracken tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Thomas.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mcracken looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mcracken tries to stand and escape but Thomas is controlling the position.

Phil Mcracken comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Mcracken has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In his post fight interview, Phil Mcracken started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
