PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Raijin Kage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Bishop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kage might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Gojira - Oroborus. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raijin Kage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Arthur Bishop!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kage scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Bishop tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Check out the look on Kage's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Bishop is looking to reverse the position.
Bishop takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Kage advances to mount.
Kage throws some wild stikes that Bishop manages to avoid easily.
Bishop slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Kage throws his legs up looking for a submission but Bishop uses it to pass to side control.
The ground and pound from Bishop seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Bishop is looking to advance position but Kage won't allow it.

Kage is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bishop pulls his head out easily.

Kage looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Bishop pushes past his half guard into mount!
Kage is bucking up trying to escape but Bishop cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Kage is squirming around, avoiding Bishop's attempts to control the action.
Kage wants to hold on but Bishop pushes him away.

Kage is in a horrible position here. Bishop smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Bishop postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kage looks a forlorn figure.

Kage bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Kage shoots in looking for a takedown but Bishop manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kage's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kage feints a jab promting Bishop to slip. Kage then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Bishop slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Kage pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Bishop tries to counter by closing the distance.
Kage avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bishop lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
A head kick misses from Bishop.
Bishop thows a body kick. Kage tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Kage shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bishop sprawls well. Bishop wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kage gets slowly back to his feet.
It seemed like Bishop was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kage throws a hook but Bishop avoids it easily.
Bishop sizes up Kage with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Bishop cracks Kage with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Kage looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Bishop connects with a right hand. Kage shakes it off.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bishop lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kage circles away quickly and effectively.
Kage tries to counter with a takedown but Bishop is quick to defend against it.

Kage shoots in and drives through. Bishop sprawls well.
Despite the aggression on Bishop's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Bishop bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kage's head.
Bishop fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Kage is out of range.
Bishop avoids a kick to the body.

Kage lands with an uppercut that bounces Bishop off the cage and back into range.
Kage bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Bishop steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Kage.
Arthur Bishop seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Bishop attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Kage will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Bishop. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Bishop throws an overhand right that lands on Kage's shoulder, as Kage tries to avoid the shot.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kage tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Kage has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Bishop finds it's way round the side to connect with Kage's head.

Bishop has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kage goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

and Bishop counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bishop has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Kage.
Kage tries to land a front kick but Bishop steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

A little jabbing left from Bishop on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Kage takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Kage has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bishop's face.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Kage moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Bishop.

Bishop wants to counter with a clinch but Kage pushes him away.
Bishop throws a hook to the side of Kage's head but Kage sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bishop connects with a nice short shot to Kage's temple.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kage wants to improve his position but Bishop is controlling well.
Kage moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

I've got Bishop winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
