Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carl Parnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Alkofer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carl Parnell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Christian Alkofer!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alkofer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Parnell sprawls well. Parnell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Alkofer gets slowly back to his feet.
Alkofer is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Alkofer fails with the takedown.
Alkofer shoots in and drives through. Parnell sprawls well.
Carl Parnell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Christian Alkofer.

Alkofer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Parnell sprawls well initially but Alkofer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alkofer trying to advance position but Parnell counters by regaining guard.
Parnell controls Alkofer momentarily but Alkofer frees himself.

Alkofer drops back looking for a leg! Parnell is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Parnell manages to kick Alkofer off! Alkofer jumps back into Parnell's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Alkofer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Parnell is keeping the position for now.
Alkofer pushes down on Parnell's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Alkofer thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Parnell is trying to maintain the position but Alkofer is very close to passing his half guard.

Alkofer is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Parnell has managed to free his arm - good work.
Alkofer lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Parnell wants to improve his position but Alkofer is controlling well.
Alkofer passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Parnell!
Alkofer looking to ground and pound but Parnell is blocking nicely.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Alkofer throws some wild stikes that Parnell manages to avoid easily.

Alkofer jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Parnell is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Parnell and Alkofer has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Alkofer creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Parnell sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Parnell can't do much from the bottom here.
Alkofer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Alkofer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Alkofer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Parnell but Parnell pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Parnell defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Alkofer.

Parnell is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Parnell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Parnell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alkofer on the ground.

Alkofer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Parnell is just riding it out for now. Alkofer eventually gives up the hold.
Alkofer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Parnell wants to control but Alkofer is keeping busy.

Alkofer with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Parnell wants to control but Alkofer is having none of it.
Alkofer throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Parnell tries to lock up and control but Alkofer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Parnell holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Alkofer tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Alkofer fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Parnell wants to hold on but Alkofer pushes him away.
Parnell takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Parnell is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Parnell wants to control but Alkofer is having none of it.
Parnell avoids a series of strikes thrown by Alkofer.

Parnell tries to lock up and control but Alkofer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Christian Alkofer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Parnell scores with a head kick. Alkofer tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Alkofer has his takedown stuffed
and Parnell counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Alkofer on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Alkofer is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Parnell knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Alkofer looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Alkofer tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Parnell is looking for a sweep.
Parnell gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Parnell tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Alkofer is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Parnell can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Parnell is looking to improve his position but Alkofer isn't that keen on the idea.

Alkofer looking to land elbow strikes but Parnell uses the position to regain half guard.
Alkofer throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Parnell wants to improve his position but Alkofer is controlling well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Alkofer is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Parnell doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Alkofer.

Alkofer is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Parnell to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Christian Alkofer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Alkofer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
