Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kasey Guerrero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nerijus Venckus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kasey Guerrero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nerijus Venckus!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Venckus shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Guerrero attempts a counter takedown but Venckus avoids it well and moves away.
Venckus shoots in for a double leg but Guerrero sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Venckus takes the fight into the clinch.
Guerrero slowing the pace effectively.
Venckus tries for a takedown but Guerrero manages to get underhooks.
Kasey Guerrero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nerijus Venckus.
Venckus jumps guard but Guerrero stands there with Venckus around his waist. Venckus gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Guerrero really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Venckus jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Guerrero walks away with a smile on his face. Venckus gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Venckus shoots in for a double leg but Guerrero sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Guerrero seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Venckus shoots in for a takedown but Guerrero shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Venckus pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Guerrero is looking for a triangle but Venckus pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Guerrero will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Guerrero has his foot on Venckus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Venckus works his way back into a safe position though.

Venckus is looking to stand up but Guerrero won't let him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Venckus clinches up with Guerrero and pushes him back against the cage.
Guerrero prevents a takedown attempt there.
Venckus is trying to drag Guerrero to the mat but Guerrero just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Venckus tries to pull guard but Guerrero forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Venckus fails to pull guard.
Venckus tries for a takedown. No joy.

Guerrero with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Venckus has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Guerrero regains guard immediately.
Venckus wants to stand but Guerrero has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Guerrero controls Venckus momentarily but Venckus frees himself.
Venckus slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Guerrero looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Venckus has picked Guerrero up and slammed him! Guerrero can't keep hold of the triangle and Venckus manages to pass to side control!

Guerrero is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Venckus is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Venckus wants to lay and pray for a moment but Guerrero keeps working.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Guerrero got a little sloppy there for a moment and Venckus has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Guerrero has managed to get both his arms back between Venckus's legs - danger averted.
Venckus is pulling down on Guerrero's head. It's preventing any offense from Guerrero, at least for the moment.

Nerijus Venckus is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Guerrero gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

I think Venckus has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
