Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Misiek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Nix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Misiek comes to the cage accompanied by El Picante. Nix has chosen Gorilla Militia by Bliss n Eso as his entrance music. Rafael Misiek is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, Rafael Misiek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joey Nix!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nix thows a body kick. Misiek tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Misiek takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Misiek shoots in and drives through. Nix sprawls well.
An inside leg kick from Nix misses.
Nix will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Nix with a hook.
Misiek uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nix.
Nix scores with a kick to the body.
Nix misses with a body kick.
Nix closes the distance and clinches up with Misiek, looking for a takedown. Nix pushes Misiek against the cage but Misiek circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nix tries to land a front kick but Misiek steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Nix has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Misiek is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Nix lands with a kick to the ribs.
Nix on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Nix misses with a kick to the body.
Misiek is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Nix.

Misiek takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Nix uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Misiek.

Nix bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Nix fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Misiek has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Nix clinches up with Misiek and pushes him back against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Nix.
Our sources have told us that Misiek has been working on his elbows in the gym.
Nix throws a punch but it's blocked by Misiek.
Misiek tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Nix avoids it.
Nix throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Misiek prevents the takedown attempt.
Misiek tries to work over Nix's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Misiek is pushing Nix up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Misiek lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Misiek's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nix takes one on the button.

Nix throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Misiek throws a body shot but no joy.
Nix flicks out a counter leg kick but Misiek steps away.
Misiek throws a right hand that misses
and Nix counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nix explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Some wild striking there from Misiek.
Nix lands a nice leg kick that just misses Misiek's sensitive parts.
Nix finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Misiek misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Nix.
Misiek blocks an uppercut.

Nix lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Nix misses with some punches.
Misiek blocking some punches.
Misiek is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Nix lands with a right to the head.
Misiek tries to land knees in the clinch but Nix avoids the damage to the body.
Nix is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Rafael Misiek has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joey Nix.

Misiek seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Nix misses with a hook to the ribs.

Nix tries to work over Misiek's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Nix looking for a takedown.
Misiek is trying to maintain a safe position but Nix gets an underhook and turns Misiek into the cage.
Nix is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Misiek is keeping busy.

Misiek lands a good knee to the midsection. Nix won't want to take too many of those.
Misiek is pressed up against the cage. Nix has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Misiek down to the mat. Misiek avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Nix looks to throw the jab but Misiek is out of range.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Misiek goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Nix throws a lazy body kick
and Misiek counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Nix is rocked!
Nix misses with a low kick as Misiek jumps back.
Joey Nix seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Misiek tries to clinch but Nix is having none of it.
Nix throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Misiek.
Nix misses with a looping left.
Nix throws a jab when Misiek was well out of range.
Nix moves out of range of the body kick from Misiek.
Misiek has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Nix.
Misiek misses with the combination.

Misiek gets a double leg takedown into Nix's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Misiek wants to control from the top but Nix keeps moving.
Misiek stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nix swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nix working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Misiek.
Nix pulls Misiek in close to prevent any damage.
Misiek pushes down on Nix's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Nix desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Nix is trying to maintain the position but Misiek is very close to passing his half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Misiek looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Misiek is looking to advance position but Nix won't allow it.
Misiek looks to land a strike but Nix avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Misiek stands up from guard. Let's bang!
A chopping leg kick lands by Nix.

A jab-cross combination lands for Misiek and sends Nix crashing to the mat! Misiek follows him down to the mat - Nix regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Nix is still in real trouble! Can Misiek finish him?

Misiek not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Misiek is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Nix is in trouble now - Misiek has advanced to mount!
Misiek postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Nix in real trouble here! The ref calls for Nix to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
