Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sa Pinto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Captain Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pinto comes to the cage accompanied by Grande Sá. Captain Jack has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Sa Pinto's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Sa Pinto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Captain Jack!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Peter Branson and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pinto drives through with a takedown into Jack's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Jack wants to sweep here but Pinto controlling him for the moment.

Jack bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pinto's guard.

Pinto definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pinto wants to stand and escape but Jack is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pinto with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Jack can't handle though.
Pinto has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Pinto is pressing down on Jack's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Jack must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jack accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That was a close round but I would say that Sa Pinto will probably get the nod.
That's time! Pinto's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Jack stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pinto swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Pinto has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Jack is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Jack jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pinto walks away with a smile on his face. Jack gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Jack lands a nice shot to the body.
Pinto doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jack fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Pinto looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Jack lands with a nice body punch.

Pinto feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Pinto with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Pinto will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Pinto not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sa Pinto will probably get the nod.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jack is trying to control Pinto's posture but Pinto avoids it.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pinto, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
