Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jimmy Snuka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dan Small!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Sandra Marshall and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snuka looks to land a combination but Small avoids it well.
A lazy body kick from Snuka
and Small counters with a nice uppercut.
Some wild striking there from Snuka.
Snuka has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Foot Loves in the buildup to the fight.
Nice straight punches there by Snuka. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Snuka.
Snuka bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Small slips under a jab.
Small appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Snuka misses with a two punch combination.
Snuka misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Small blocks the body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Snuka throws a jab when Small was well out of range.

Small has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Snuka throws a lazy right hand but Small sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Small swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Snuka throws a lazy uppercut
and Small counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Jimmy Snuka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Small ducks under a wild hook from Snuka.
Small changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Snuka loads up on a big right hand but Small slips the punch.
Snuka moves away from the strike by Small.
Snuka connects with a jab.
Small connects with a right hand. Snuka shakes it off.
Jimmy Snuka is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Snuka throws a right hand that misses
and Snuka takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Small blocks a jab.
Small changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Snuka works over Small's head and body with a nice combination.
A combination from Snuka does no damage.
Small staying out of range there.
Small bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Small lands with a good body shot.
Snuka throws a looping overhand right but Small ducks down to avoid it.

Snuka drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Small looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Small prevents Snuka from standing back up.
Snuka on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Snuka tries to get out of the position.

Small seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Small looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Small is still trying to improve position.
Small controlling the pace.

Small is working for a submission of some sort.

Small wants to work for an arm triangle but Snuka is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Small is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Snuka pushes Small off looking to stand but Small dives back in and keeps control.
Small wants to pass the guard but Snuka is defending well.
Snuka looks like he's trying to stand up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Small is trying to work for a kimura but Snuka is defending well.
Snuka is trying to stand back up but Small is controlling him
Snuka trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Small wants to control but Snuka is keeping him busy.

Small looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Small frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Small dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Small slips a jab and a cross from Snuka.
Small throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A head kick misses from Snuka.
Snuka throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Small drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Snuka defends it well.
Small walks into a left hand.
Small goes for a double leg but Snuka avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Snuka continues to drive forward.
Snuka tries a head kick but it misses.
Small looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Small, as that shot connected.
Snuka scores with a hook.
Jimmy Snuka is winning the standup battle so far.
Snuka throws a head kick that misses

and Small counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Snuka tries to kick Small off but Small keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Small is looking for a kimura but Snuka is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Small to get the leverage.
Snuka is trying to stand.

Small is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Snuka sees it coming and defends easily.
Small trying to control from half guard but Snuka is working away.

Small maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Snuka could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Small has cracked it and Snuka is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Small!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Dan Small!
After the fight, Dan Small was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
In defeat, Jimmy Snuka stepped up to the mic, saying 'Argghhh!!'.
