The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Helix is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

It looks like Augustus Fink Nottle has been cut.

and Helix counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Helix tries to free his leg and advance position but Fink Nottle is retaining full guard.

Fink Nottle takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Fink Nottle throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Helix avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Helix feinted with a counter takedown.
Helix throws a hook to the side of Fink Nottle's head but Fink Nottle sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Fink Nottle replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Helix blocks it well.

Fink Nottle steps into range and cracks Helix with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Helix flops backwards and Fink Nottle dives into his guard looking to finish!

You can see the frustration on Helix's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Helix has one of Fink Nottle's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fink Nottle has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Well, if Helix is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Fink Nottle felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
