PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Kid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Goldson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kid comes to the cage accompanied by Go Go Power Rangers. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and Donald Grub.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goldson throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Goldson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Kid tries to clinch up but Goldson circles away and keeps his distance.

Kid closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Goldson is pressed up against the cage. Kid has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Goldson down to the mat. Goldson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Kid is looking to clinch.
Goldson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kid avoids a punch combination nicely.
Goldson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kid tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Goldson tries to clinch but Kid is having none of it.
Kid is looking to clinch but Goldson is avoiding it.
Kid shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Goldson as he avoids it easily.

Goldson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Goldson gets to his feet. Kid looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Kid will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Kid. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Goldson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kid swats away the attempt to clinch by Goldson.

Goldson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Goldson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Goldson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Kid.
Goldson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kid lands a head kick!
Goldson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Goldson fails with the takedown

and Kid holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Goldson looks gassed!

Goldson gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Kid is looking to improve his position.

Kid looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Goldson moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Kid.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kid wants to control but Goldson postures up.
Kid gets back to half guard.
Kid moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Goldson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kid. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kid is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Goldson frees his head nicely. Oh but Kid has switched to an armbar! Goldson is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
