Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Malenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Johnson's choice of entrance music: Can't Be Touched . There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malenko drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Johnson tries to clinch but Malenko moves out of range.
Malenko doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Malenko counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Joe Malenko has been cut.
Johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Malenko counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Johnson takes a swing at Malenko's ribcage but misses.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Johnson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Malenko takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looked like Malenko wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Malenko has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Johnson throws a nice looking combination but Malenko bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Malenko but Malenko pushes him off and we're back to square one.
