Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jake Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anwar Sadat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anwar Sadat acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jake Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anwar Sadat!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sadat scores with a jab.
Sadat keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Sadat closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Miller quickly recovers to half guard.

Miller looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Sadat wants to pass to mount but Miller is defending the position.
Sadat stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miller is trying to control but can't.
Sadat uses his free foot to push down on Miller's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Miller.
Miller wants to control but Sadat is having none of it.

Miller is in all sorts of trouble here.

Sadat with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Miller regains half guard.

Sadat is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Sadat is thwarting Miller's attempts to control the position.
Miller wants to improve his position but Sadat is controlling well.

Sadat is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Miller is just riding it out for now. Sadat eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Sadat wants to free his trapped foot but Miller is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Sadat is working for a kimura but Miller is defending it quite comfortably.
Miller is trying to control but can't.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Miller tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sadat was well out of range. Poor timing from Miller.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sadat smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Miller fails with the takedown.
Sadat works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Miller looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sadat is fending him off so far but Miller persists. Nope, Sadat circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Miller. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Miller shoots in but Sadat avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sadat connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Miller walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Sadat checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Sadat tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Miller looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Miller seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

That's time! Miller's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Sadat scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A jab from Sadat finds it's way through Miller's defenses.
Sadat throws a hook to the side of Miller's head but Miller sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Miller appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Nice jab there from Sadat.
Sadat cracks Miller with an open hand slap.
Sadat has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sadat. Miller does a little dance to reset his feet.
Miller drops down looking for a counter takedown but Sadat sprawls and moves away.

and Miller takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Sadat lands with an overhand left.

Sadat feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Miller wants to get back to full guard.

Sadat is pressing down on Miller's thigh, looking to free his foot. Miller is holding on for now.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sadat advances position into side control!

Sadat tries to advance to mount but can't.
Sadat remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Miller is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sadat's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Miller makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Miller.
Miller is trying to keep Sadat in close.
Sadat pushes down on Miller's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Sadat frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Miller is squirming around, avoiding Sadat's attempts to control the action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miller tries to roll over but Sadat keeps him under control.

Sadat is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Miller slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Miller keeping moving, preventing Sadat from controlling successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Sadat stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miller swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Anwar Sadat showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Miller on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Sadat throws a jab but it's blocked by Miller.
Miller attempts a counter takedown but Sadat avoids it well and moves away.
Sadat cracks Miller with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Miller uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sadat.
Sadat throws a body punch but Miller moves out of range.

And Sadat tries to counter it with a takedown but Miller pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Sadat fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Miller looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Sadat shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Miller manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Sadat thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Sadat is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Miller doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sadat.

Anwar Sadat is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Sadat has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
