PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hacran Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hacran Silva is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hacran Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Wallace!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Silva throws a sloppy head kick

and Wallace decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silva's guard.

Wallace drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Silva manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Wallace has Silva in his guard.

Silva stops Wallace from standing up.
Silva has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wallace postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Silva is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Wallace, into his guard.

Silva wanted to stand there but Wallace had control of the position.
Silva prevents Wallace from getting back to his feet.

Wallace is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Silva presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Silva is trying to break the clinch but Wallace is controlling him.
Wallace keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Silva's efforts to push away.

Silva is fighting off a takedown attempt but Wallace is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Silva to the mat. Silva regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Wallace drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Wallace off! Wallace jumps back into Silva's guard.

Wallace drops back, looking for a kneebar! Silva looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Silva looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Silva!

Silva wants to stand but Wallace is controlling his arm.
Wallace tries to escape but Silva is in control.
Wallace is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Silva wants to stand but Wallace has his arm trapped.
Wallace pushes Silva away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Silva gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Ryan Wallace.
I've got Wallace winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
