Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raul Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juliano Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Junior has chosen Soulfly - Brasil as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raul Gonzalez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juliano Junior!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Junior gets caught flat footed, as Gonzalez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Gonzalez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Junior, up you get!
Junior showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gonzalez.

Gonzalez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Junior manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gonzalez's best efforts.

Gonzalez gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Gonzalez's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Gonzalez duly obliges.


It looks like Juliano Junior has been cut.
Gonzalez tries to close the distance and clinch but Junior swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gonzalez fails with an attempt to clinch.

Gonzalez throws a body kick that misses.
Junior fails with the takedown

and Gonzalez counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Junior working for a triangle but Gonzalez defends it easily.
Gonzalez tries to stand but Junior is controlling from the bottom.

Junior has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gonzalez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gonzalez's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Junior keeps the fight on the outside.

Gonzalez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Junior swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The fight stays on the outside here - Gonzalez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Gonzalez moves in looking to clinch but Junior pushes him off.

Junior shoots for a takedown but Gonzalez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Raul Gonzalez will probably get the nod.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gonzalez lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Junior has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Junior and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Raul Gonzalez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well Gonzalez has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
