The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walter shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Smith napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walter tries for a kimura but Smith is defending well.

Walter swings around for an armbar but Smith sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Walter's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Walter goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Smith has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Walter but great work by Smith.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mike Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Walter closes the distance and clinches up with Smith, looking for a takedown. Walter pushes Smith against the cage but Smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Smith throws a lazy right hand but Walter sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Smith fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Walter manages to avoid it.

Peter Walter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Walter is looking to advance position but Smith has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Walter avoids a series of strikes thrown by Smith.
Smith tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Oh Walter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smith wants it to stay on the feet.
Smith has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Smith lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Walter falls backwards - clearly groggy! Smith dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
