Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Devon Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Jacobs pushes Clark off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Clark goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Jacobs has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Clark but great work by Jacobs.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Devon Clark has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barry Jacobs.
Jacobs tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Clark manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Jacobs goes for a double leg but Clark avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Clark continues to drive forward.
Clark tries to counter by clinching up but Jacobs breaks away and moves out of range.

Clark closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Clark lands in his opponent's guard.
Jacobs bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Clark's guard.

Clark has Jacobs pulled in close to control his posture.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Clark is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jacobs is pulling down on Clark's head. It's preventing any offense from Clark, at least for the moment.

Jacobs escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Clark gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Clark shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jacobs sprawls well. Jacobs wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Clark gets slowly back to his feet.

Devon Clark is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Jacobs lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Jacobs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Clark swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Devon Clark.
