The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
VonFoster looks to land a combination but Light avoids it well.
Light lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Nice takedown defense from Light. No joy for VonFoster on that attempt.
Light tries to close the distance and clinch up but VonFoster swats him away and circles back towards the center.

VonFoster shoots in but no luck this time.

Light gets caught flat footed, as VonFoster shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Light is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

VonFoster postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Light is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of VonFoster, into his guard.

VonFoster is looking for a triangle but Light pushes his legs off easily.

Light avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

VonFoster is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

VonFoster is looking to stand up but Light isn't so interested in that idea.
VonFoster lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

VonFoster postures up in Light's guard and throws a big left but Light blocks it.

VonFoster trying to control the position from guard on top but Light is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
VonFoster stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Light swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Light keeping moving, preventing VonFoster from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Light preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That was a close round but I would say that Sean VonFoster will probably get the nod.

VonFoster has picked Light up - he's going for a ride! VonFoster dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Light is concentrating on defense, preventing VonFoster from advancing position.

VonFoster is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Light sees it coming and defends easily.
VonFoster seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Light does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Speedy Light is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Light lands a body shot.
VonFoster avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
VonFoster drops down looking for a counter takedown but Light sprawls and moves away.
Sean VonFoster is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Despite the aggression on Light's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Light works over VonFoster's head and body with a nice combination.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
