PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Erick Rootmans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raymond Lewinski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rootmans comes to the cage accompanied by Busta Rhymes - Put your hands where my eyes can see. Lewinski is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Shoot from the hip. Raymond Lewinski told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Erick Rootmans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Raymond Lewinski!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rootmans drops Lewinski with a right and a left! Rootmans comes rushing in but Lewinski regains his composure and manages to keep Rootmans in guard.

Lewinski had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rootmans defends it easily.
Lewinski wants to sweep but no luck.
Rootmans has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lewinski is proving hard to escape from.
We've been hearing that Rootmans has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Lewinski is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rootmans wants to stand but Lewinski has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Rootmans has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Rootmans gets to his feet - Lewinski follows without any prompting.
Lewinski shoots in for a double leg but Rootmans sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Lewinski needs to keep his hands up - Rootmans had a free shot at his head there.
Lewinski seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Rootmans shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Lewinski is backing up but Rootmans catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Lewinski covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Rootmans Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Erick Rootmans!
A less than humble Erick Rootmans misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
