Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Howell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Kelleher!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kelleher is looking to clinch.
Howell swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Howell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kelleher tries to move into range but Howell moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Howell scores with a nice strike.

Kelleher moves into range and clinches up with Howell.

Kelleher is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Howell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Howell wants to stand but Kelleher has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Kelleher pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kelleher avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kelleher's coach down at KY GYM was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kelleher's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Kelleher wants to clinch up but Howell keeps it at a distance.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Howell has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kelleher after a bit of a struggle.
Howell jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kelleher walks away with a smile on his face. Howell gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Howell throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kelleher sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kelleher misses with a few strikes there.
Howell cracks Kelleher with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

and Howell counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Howell tests Kelleher's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Howell is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Kelleher wants to clinch
and Howell connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Howell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kelleher.

Howell drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kelleher gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Howell is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kelleher to keep the fight standing.
Howell has been working on his balance at Beat Down Under, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Kelleher.
Still in the clinch, Kelleher scores with a nice short uppercut.

Howell has Kelleher pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Howell pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kelleher tumbling to the mat - Howell dives into Kelleher's guard.

Kelleher wants to control but Howell is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Howell fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kelleher looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Howell throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kelleher stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Howell lands a nice shot that snaps Kelleher's head back.
Howell tests Kelleher's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Kelleher walks straight into a right hand from Howell - that's dropped him! Howell jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Kelleher from any more punishment! Kelleher complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Josh Howell!
A relieved looking Josh Howell thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
