Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Serge DjambaShango (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jari Jokinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Serge DjambaShango!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jari Jokinen!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DjambaShango pulls out of a head kick attempt.
DjambaShango throws a body kick that misses.

Jokinen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. DjambaShango looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jokinen happy to just control the position for now.

DjambaShango is trying to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jokinen swings around for an armbar but DjambaShango sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jokinen's guard.

Jokinen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Jokinen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. DjambaShango doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. DjambaShango manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
DjambaShango wants to control from the top but Jokinen keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

DjambaShango got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jokinen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, DjambaShango has managed to get both his arms back between Jokinen's legs - danger averted.

DjambaShango decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jokinen, up you get!

Nice defenses there by Jokinen.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Jokinen!

Jokinen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jokinen showed some decent athleticism there.
DjambaShango holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Jokinen is trying to control. DjambaShango wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jokinen is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Jokinen is looking to take a break and control but DjambaShango is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jokinen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and DjambaShango defends it well.
DjambaShango pushes Jokinen off looking to stand but Jokinen dives back in and keeps control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jokinen is taking a breather. DjambaShango says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
DjambaShango pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Jokinen crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from DjambaShango - the referee stops the clock and Jokinen gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says DjambaShango. Jokinen manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Jokinen avoids a punch combination nicely.
DjambaShango looks for the body kick but Jokinen saw that one coming.

Jokinen looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for DjambaShango!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jari Jokinen dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


A combination from Jokinen does no damage.
DjambaShango tries to work over Jokinen's front leg with a kick but Jokinen checks it.
Jari Jokinen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jokinen fails with a takedown attempt.
DjambaShango avoids a punch combination nicely.
DjambaShango throws a head kick that misses.
Jokinen throws a chopping leg kick but DjambaShango manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

DjambaShango tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
DjambaShango throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
DjambaShango throws a half hearted mid kick.
Jokinen tries to score a power double leg takedown but DjambaShango sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jokinen somewhat.
Jokinen steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from DjambaShango. That one must have hurt.

and DjambaShango counters with a nice uppercut.
Serge DjambaShango has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jari Jokinen.

DjambaShango scores with a three punch combo!
Jokinen misses with a wild combination.
Jokinen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts DjambaShango as he jumps to the side.
Jokinen is breathing heavily.
DjambaShango circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Jokinen drops to the canvas, hurt badly! DjambaShango follows Jokinen to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Serge DjambaShango!
Our winner, Serge DjambaShango, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
