Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dominick Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dylan Robbins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Dylan Robbins enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dominick Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dylan Robbins!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz fails to land the takedown.
Cruz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Robbins throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cruz.
Cruz is looking for a counter combo.
Robbins lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Cruz tries to clinch up.
Robbins appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Robbins throws a jab but it's blocked by Cruz.
Cruz could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Robbins.

Cruz tries to bench press Robbins off him but Robbins keeps the position.
Robbins is looking to take a break and control but Cruz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Robbins seems to be looking for submissions.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Robbins trying to mount his opponent but Cruz defends it.
Robbins wants to get back to his feet.
Robbins wants to free his trapped foot but Cruz is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Robbins is looking to take a break and control but Cruz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Cruz kicks off Robbins and gets to his feet.
Robbins shoots in for a double leg but Cruz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Cruz counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Robbins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Cruz is pressed up against the cage. Robbins has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cruz down to the mat. Cruz avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Dominick Cruz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dylan Robbins.

Robbins tries to keep at a distance but Cruz has taken the fight into the clinch.
Robbins looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Cruz tries to circle away but Robbins has him pinned against the cage.

Cruz jumps guard and drags Robbins to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Cruz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Robbins manages to get himself to full guard.

Robbins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cruz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cruz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cruz stands up from Robbins's guard - Cruz perhaps looking for a knockout.
Robbins misses the shot to the body.
Robbins has a takedown stuffed.
Robbins closes the distance and clinches up with Cruz, looking for a takedown. Robbins pushes Cruz against the cage but Cruz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Cruz tries to land a front kick but Robbins steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cruz wants to sweep here but Robbins controlling him for the moment.
Cruz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dylan Robbins will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Robbins throws a low kick, looking for Cruz's leg but Cruz calmly moves out of range.
Robbins throws a head kick that half lands.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Robbins is defended easily by Cruz.
Robbins uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cruz.

The fight stays on the outside here - Robbins looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Robbins has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Cruz.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Robbins shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cruz but Cruz pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Cruz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Robbins is looking to clinch but Cruz is avoiding it.

Robbins wants to counter with a clinch but Cruz pushes him away.

Robbins shoots in for a takedown but Cruz shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Robbins shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cruz as he avoids it easily.
Robbins fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cruz avoids it really well and circles away.

Cruz is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Robbins's half guard.

Robbins shoots in looking for a takedown but Cruz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Robbins's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Cruz ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cruz no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Cruz is looking to stand up but Robbins isn't so interested in that idea.
Robbins wants to get up but he can't break Cruz's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Robbins is fighting to break Cruz's control of his arms but Cruz is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Robbins throws a strike but Cruz rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Robbins is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Robbins is trying to control. Cruz wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Well, if Robbins is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Cruz on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cruz tries to get out of the position.
Cruz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Well Cruz has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
