Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ike Dyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Belfidus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ike Dyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vitor Belfidus!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dyer tries to clinch but Belfidus is having none of it.
Dyer dodges the punch combination from Belfidus.
Belfidus will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dyer throws a counter high kick but Belfidus was just alert enough to avoid it.
A nice leg kick lands there from Belfidus.
Dyer misses with a jab, cross combination.
Belfidus fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dyer avoids it really well and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dyer moves into range and clinches up with Belfidus.

Dyer tries to pull guard but Belfidus won't allow it.

Belfidus gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Dyer regains guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Belfidus accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dyer makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Belfidus working for a triangle but Dyer defends it easily.
Dyer lands a couple of elbows.
Dyer has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dyer throws an elbow that misses. Belfidus uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dyer's guard. Nice move by Belfidus!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Belfidus throws a strike but Dyer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Dyer won't allow Belfidus to get back to his feet.

Belfidus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dyer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dyer tries to stand but Belfidus is controlling from the bottom.

Dyer throws a big right hand that misses.

Vitor Belfidus dominated that round.

Belfidus throws a combination. Dyer tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Ike Dyer has been cut.
Belfidus has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Belfidus is looking to clinch but Dyer is avoiding it.

Belfidus moves into range and clinches up with Dyer.
Belfidus tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Belfidus has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Dyer clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Belfidus is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Belfidus is looking to control Dyer but Dyer is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Belfidus has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Dyer has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Belfidus keeps control of the position easily here as Dyer tries to buck him off.

Dyer is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Belfidus gets his way!

Vitor Belfidus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Dyer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Belfidus paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Dyer takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Belfidus looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dyer is fending him off so far but Belfidus persists. Nope, Dyer circles away and we're back to standing.
It looked like Dyer was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Belfidus.
Belfidus shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dyer pinned against the cage. Dyer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Ike Dyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vitor Belfidus.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Belfidus shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dyer as he jumps to the side.

Dyer prevents Belfidus from breaking the clinch.
Dyer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Dyer blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Belfidus tries for a takedown but Dyer manages to get underhooks.

Belfidus is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Dyer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Dyer has escaped and now he's on top!


Dyer gets to his feet. Belfidus looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Belfidus throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dyer's waist but Dyer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Belfidus off to one side.
Dyer shoots in for a takedown but Belfidus shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

A punch combination from Dyer misses.
Dyer slaps away a takedown attempt from Belfidus, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Belfidus fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dyer avoids it really well and circles away.
Dyer seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

and Dyer counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Belfidus is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Belfidus shoots in but no luck this time.

Dyer went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Dyer fails with an attempt to clinch.
Belfidus throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dyer lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Dyer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Belfidus with the counter takedown but Dyer avoids it easily.
Vitor Belfidus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dyer changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

I think Belfidus has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
