Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kirk Hall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carolus Rex!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Steve Montenegro and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rex throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Hall looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Rex cracks Hall with a big right hand and Hall goes down!


Hall is rocked!


It looks like Kirk Hall has been cut.
Hall can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rex controls the pace.
Oh Hall is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hall is trying to keep Rex in close.
Rex passes into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hall avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rex.
Rex with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Rex thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hall's head.
Rex seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Rex thows a huge punch but Hall dodges it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rex looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Hall seems to have got his legs back now.
Rex seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Rex takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Rex throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rex moves nicely into side control.
A lull in the action here as Rex stalls from top position.
Rex tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hall trying to remain calm as Rex controls from the top position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hall gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Rex gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carolus Rex!
During a confident post fight interview, Carolus Rex thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
