Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Derick Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sacco Vanzetti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vanzetti comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Against All Authority - Sacco & Vanzetti kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Derick Rose could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Sacco Vanzetti's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Sacco Vanzetti!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanzetti stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vanzetti wants it to stay on the feet.
Vanzetti cracks Rose with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Rose shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Vanzetti napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Rose tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rose has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Vanzetti is looking for a sweep.
Vanzetti told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Rose working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

We've been hearing that Rose has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Rose wants to pass the guard but Vanzetti is defending well.
Vanzetti regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Rose.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rose accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Rose has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Vanzetti is on top in guard.

Vanzetti wants to stand but Rose is controlling his posture from full guard.
Rose seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Rose wants to sweep but no luck.

Vanzetti got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rose has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vanzetti has managed to get both his arms back between Rose's legs - danger averted.

Vanzetti wants to stand and escape but instead Rose has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Vanzetti utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Vanzetti has Rose pulled in close to control his posture.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Rose shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vanzetti sprawls well. Vanzetti wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rose gets slowly back to his feet.

Rose shoots in and bounces Vanzetti off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vanzetti wants to sweep but no luck.
Vanzetti is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Rose postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Vanzetti is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rose, into his guard.

Vanzetti wants to get up but he can't break Rose's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Vanzetti stands and steps away. Rose gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Rose's jab looks to have found its range, popping Vanzetti under the eye.
Rose keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Rose goes for a double leg but Vanzetti avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vanzetti continues to drive forward.

Vanzetti lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Rose goes for a double leg but Vanzetti avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vanzetti continues to drive forward.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
The fight stays on the outside here - Vanzetti looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Vanzetti rushes Rose and presses him up against the cage.
Vanzetti pushes off an throws an elbow but Rose leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Vanzetti is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Rose is defending well for now.

Vanzetti throws a big uppercut that drops Rose! More strikes from Vanzetti and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Rose lies dazed against the cage as Vanzetti celebrates with his cornermen!
