Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ask Fairchild (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fairchild comes into the arena with Jesse & Joy - Llorar blaring out of the sound system. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Fairchild tries to counter with a takedown but Smith is quick to defend against it.
Fairchild avoids a kick to the body.
Fairchild circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Smith, right into the meat.
Fairchild getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Smith moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Fairchild blocks a head kick by Smith.
Smith leaves Fairchild with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fairchild throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Fairchild will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Fairchild postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Fairchild goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Smith has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Fairchild but great work by Smith.
Fairchild is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Smith is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Fairchild wants to improve his position but Smith is controlling well.

Fairchild is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Lock and Roll Grappling Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Fairchild tries to roll over but Smith keeps him under control.

Fairchild is looking to control Smith's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fairchild avoid being mounted?

Fairchild takes a swing at Smith's ribcage but misses.
Fairchild swings for the body but Smith moves out of range.
Smith throws out a counter right but Fairchild avoids it with no problem.
Smith throws a head kick that half lands.
Fairchild misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Fairchild doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Smith counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Fairchild throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fairchild throws a right hand that Smith ducks under and follows up with a left that Smith also avoids with ease.
Smith scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Smith lands a big head kick that sends Fairchild tumbling to the mat! Smith takes a step backwards and waves Fairchild back to his feet - he wants the finish!
