Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hu Kokov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Chaney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kokov has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hu Kokov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Chaney!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kokov misses with a wild combination.
Chaney unleashes a big counter combination but Kokov bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Kokov uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Chaney has time to react.
Kokov scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Kokov clinches up with Chaney and pushes him back against the cage.
Kokov softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Kokov working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Kokov lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Chaney backwards.
Kokov lands a right hand.
Kokov lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
A short body shot lands from Kokov as the two fighters clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kokov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kokov takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Chaney on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.


It looks like James Chaney has been cut.
Chaney misses with a lunging right hand
and Chaney takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


Chaney is rocked!
Chaney shoots in looking for a takedown. Kokov tries to sprawl out of it but Chaney keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kokov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chaney throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Chaney walks into a straight right hand from Kokov.
Kokov fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Kokov plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Chaney is still on wobbly legs! Can Kokov finish him?
Look low, kick high! Kokov uses the oldest trick in the book to send Chaney tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Kokov is absolutely delighted - when Chaney wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Hu Kokov!
An out of breath Hu Kokov thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
