The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Kong shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Kong not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Silva utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kong makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Silva is looking for a triangle but Kong pushes his legs off easily.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silva takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Kong's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
