Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jamie Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Gibiatti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reyes comes into the arena with Black and Yellow - Wiz Khalifa blaring out of the sound system. Jamie Reyes has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Frank Gibiatti!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gibiatti scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Gibiatti throws a hook but Reyes blocks it.
Reyes lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Reyes wants to slow Gibiatti down by chopping away at his legs.
And Gibiatti tries to counter it with a takedown but Reyes pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Reyes looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gibiatti checks a leg kick nicely.
Gibiatti throws a right and a left that Reyes avoids nicely.
It looked like Reyes wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Reyes connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Reyes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gibiatti manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Gibiatti dives in for a single leg takedown but Reyes sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Reyes throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Gibiatti escapes and throws Reyes's legs to the side, diving into side control!

That was a close round but I would say that Jamie Reyes will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Gibiatti got a little sloppy there for a moment and Reyes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gibiatti has managed to get both his arms back between Reyes's legs - danger averted.

Gibiatti drops back, looking for a kneebar! Reyes looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Reyes looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Reyes!

Gibiatti is staying active underneath Reyes, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Reyes moves nicely into side control.
Gibiatti trying to control but Reyes flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reyes has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Gibiatti has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Gibiatti is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Reyes is persistently looking for the submission but Gibiatti is defending it well.
Reyes has the hooks in. Gibiatti is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
