The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida moves out of range of the strikes.
Frazier lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Frazier has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Frazier cracks Machida with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Frazier slips under a jab.
Machida throws a quick inside leg kick.
Machida definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Machida fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Frazier manages to avoid it.
Frazier cracks Machida with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Frazier throws the left hand but Machida avoids the punch easily.

Machida tries to clinch there but Frazier circles away.

Machida throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Machida tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Frazier was well out of range. Poor timing from Machida.

Machida takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Frazier was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

Machida takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Frazier throws a front kick that sends Machida stumbling back into the cage.
Joe Frazier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Machida throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Frazier has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Frazier throws a wild body kick that Machida sees coming a mile off.
Frazier lands a nice shot that snaps Machida's head back.
Frazier uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Machida has time to react.
Frazier is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Frazier throws a shot from downtown. Machida moves away and avoids it.
Machida tries to counter by clinching up but Frazier breaks away and moves out of range.

Frazier finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Frazier throws a good cross that connects.

Machida walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Machida throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nice straight punches there by Frazier. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Frazier.
Frazier is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Machida had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Frazier bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Machida's head backwards.

Machida is rocked!
Frazier throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Frazier misses with a double jab
and Machida counters with a nice uppercut.
Frazier cracks Machida on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Machida falls backwards against the cage. Frazier follows up with more strikes that drop Machida to his knees. Frazier keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Machida! This one is all over!
