Timer closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Shields quickly recovers to half guard.
Shields is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Timer's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Timer's back!

Timer trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Timer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shields. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Timer is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Shields is staying active.
Shields will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
