The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ngo closes the distance looking to clinch
and Singh makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Ngo really felt that one!
Ngo shoots in for a takedown but Singh shows good takedown defense.
Ngo closes the distance and clinches.
Ngo ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ngo no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Ngo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Singh controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Singh feints a jab promting Ngo to slip. Singh then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ngo slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Singh leaves Ngo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Singh rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ngo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

After winning the bout, Vijay Singh thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
