Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Angel Toney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Mead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Toney might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Korn - Twisted Transistor. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Konstantin Menshow and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toney forces Mead back against the cage and clinches.
Mead has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Toney avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Mead changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Toney fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Toney closes the distance and pushes Mead back into the cage.
Toney tightens his grip and picks Mead up, before dumping him to the ground. Mead manages to land in guard.

Toney is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mead is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mead has escaped and now he's on top!
Toney is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mead throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Toney works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Toney manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mead manages to get himself to full guard.

Toney drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mead looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mead looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mead!
Toney tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mead wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Toney is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mead pulls his head out easily.
My spies in The Fortress inform me that Mead has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Mead is keen to just control but Toney is a slippery customer.
Mead takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Mead is looking to take a break and control but Toney is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A relieved looking Angel Toney thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
