Punishment has chosen Everybody by: Yo Gotti as his entrance music. Capital Punishment has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Eddie Farnsworth and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punishment shoots in for a takedown but Pettis shows good takedown defense.
A solid body kick from Punishment.
Punishment lands a head kick. Pettis smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Gilbert Pettis has been cut.
Punishment tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Punishment connects with a looping right hand.

Pettis throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Punishment tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pettis is in Punishment's guard.
Pettis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Punishment has Pettis pulled in close to control his posture.

Pettis postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Punishment had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pettis defends it easily.
Pettis is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pettis controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pettis is looking to advance position but Punishment has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Punishment working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Pettis tries to lock up and control but Punishment gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Pettis is looking to get to half guard.
Pettis is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Pettis is squirming around, avoiding Punishment's attempts to control the action.

Pettis is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Pettis is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Pettis tries to lock up and control but Punishment gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Pettis takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Punishment lands a big shot there that rocks Pettis but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Pettis really wants to buck Punishment off and get back to his feet.
Pettis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Punishment on the ground.
Punishment is landing with some decent strikes but Pettis is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Gilbert Pettis's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

After the fight, Capital Punishment was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
