Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Elwood Gross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Elwood Gross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Long!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gross gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Gross tries to break free but Long pushes him back against the cage.
Long keeps control of Gross as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Gross wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Long's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Long forces Gross back against the cage and clinches.

Long successfully pulls guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Long looking to control.
Gross working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gross throws a big right hand that misses.
Gross stopping the sweep attempt from Long.
Gross working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Long's head.

Gross works over Long with some ground and pound from guard.

Long manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Long turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Long manages to end up in side control.
Long misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Long in side control, throwing shots but Gross defends.
Gross regains half guard.
Gross could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Long seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Long really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gross. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Long is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gross doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Long.
Gross slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Gross is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Gross has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Long trying to control but Gross is working from the bottom.
Gross seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Long looking to sit in guard and control but Gross gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Gross chips away with some ground and pound.
Gross throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Long works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Gross postures up and lands a big shot to Long's brow.
Long wants to get back to his feet but Gross passes into half guard.
Gross landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gross connects with a nice short shot to Long's temple.
Gross thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Long is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gross scores with a couple of nice shots.
Gross is thwarting Long's attempts to control the position.
Gross is nestled in close to Long, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round but I would say that Elwood Gross will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Long bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Long wants to control but Gross is keeping him busy.
Gross trying to remain calm as Long controls from the top position.
Frank Long has got the better of the ground game so far.
Gross is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Long's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Long is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Gross reverses the position - he's now on top in Long's guard.

Long controls Gross momentarily but Gross frees himself.

Long pushes Gross off looking to stand but Gross dives back in and keeps control.

Long has a hand on Gross's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Gross takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Gross with a couple of short strikes.
Gross with shots to the head and body - Long looks very uncomfortable down there.
Long is in a horrible position here. Gross smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Gross lands a couple of good shots and Long has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Gross gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Long tries to roll but Gross sticks to his back.

Gross is looking to finish with some ground and pound!

Gross looking to break Long's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Long remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Gross will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Long is trying to defend against the choke here but Gross has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Gross Tightens the hold and Long taps out furiously! Gross displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
