The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Mckinney has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Wainwright is trying to keep an underhook but Mckinney manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Mckinney is nestled in close to Wainwright, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Mckinney is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Wainwright wants to improve his position but Mckinney is controlling well.

Mckinney stands up out of the half guard.

Wainwright rushes Mckinney and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Wainwright misses with a punch to the body.
Wainwright prevents a takedown attempt there.
Wainwright misses with an elbow over the top.
With the fighters up against the cage, Wainwright throws an elbow but misses.
Wainwright throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Mckinney is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Wainwright is keeping busy.
Wainwright gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mckinney.

Mckinney turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mckinney manages to end up in side control.

Mckinney tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mckinney has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wainwright is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Wainwright wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Wainwright really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mckinney. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mckinney has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Wainwright is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Mckinney yanks on the arm and Wainwright is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Mckinney.
