Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Martins, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Icles misses with a takedown
and Martins counters with a straight right hand.
Martins throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Icles.
Martins rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Icles moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Martins swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Icles darts in looking for a takedown but Martins gets double underhooks and turns Icles into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Test Icles. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Icles goes for a double leg but Martins avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Martins continues to drive forward.

Icles closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Martins can do anything to dispel that myth.

Martins takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Martins is looking to regain half guard here but Icles keeps moving and retains side control.
Icles has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Martins is not content to let Icles control the position.

Martins tries to pull guard but Icles holds him up against the cage and eventually Martins drops back down to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martins tries to bench press Icles off him but Icles keeps the position.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Icles has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Martins is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Icles yanks on the arm and Martins is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Icles.
